Hi my name is Don.
I’m not a therapist, doctor, or mental health professional – but I’ve taken several well-recognised training programmes in the UK, including AIMS and ASIST, to help me better support people who are struggling. My role isn’t to give advice or diagnose. It’s simply to listen—with compassion, without judgment, and without pressure.
This isn’t a replacement for professional help. But sometimes, having someone who’s simply willing to be there and truly listen can make a difference – especially when everything feels overwhelming.
Why do I do this? Because I’ve come to understand what it’s like to go through something life-changing and isolating. While I don’t share my story in detail, it’s taught me how much it matters to have someone who’s just willing to sit with you in the hard moments. That’s why this space exists.
It’s completely free. No fees, no obligations, no hidden agenda – just a place where you can be heard.
Conversations are confidential, though if you share something that suggests you’re at immediate risk of serious harm, I may need to encourage or help you connect with emergency or professional services. Your safety comes first.
You’re not alone. If you want to talk, I’m here to listen.
At Free Mental Health Helpline, we offer a safe and confidential space where you can express
your feelings and get the support you deserve.

No matter what you’re going through, support is available whenever you need it.

You don’t have to go through this alone. Whether you need to vent, share your thoughts, or just know that someone is there, I’m here for you.
